We need envelope addressers and note writers

This is a simple volunteer activity you can do from the comfort of your own home!

If you have good handwriting, an eye for detail, and some free time over the next couple of months, we’d love your help!

ATC’s mailing list has expanded to 3,200 people, and we want everyone on it to actually open what we send them, and read what is inside. That’s where you come in, because handwritten envelopes and notes are the key to making this happen.

During March, April, and May, we need people who have at least 2 hours of time to address envelopes and write notes to our supporters. It is easy, and has a huge impact on ATC’s ability to raise much-needed support.

We’d need you to come by, pick up some envelopes, letters, or note cards, use your lovely penmanship, and then return them. Simple.

Help us with your transcription skills!

Are you a speedy typist, with at least a couple of hours of free time in the next couple of months? If so, we’d love you to help transcribe some interviews. Do it at home, from a coffee shop, or wherever is most comfortable for you!

Every year, At The Crossroads puts out two newsletters, which are read by more than 5,000 people! We try very hard to make them interesting and educational. We focus on a different theme for each one; our upcoming newsletter will shine a spotlight on the culture of money for homeless youth.

We interview clients, community partners, and staff members, among other people. We need your help making sure that their words get captured properly. You’ll be playing an important role in educating the community about our clients and the issues that affect them!

The process is easy:
1) We email you a file (or you pick up a recorder)
2) You type, type, type
3) You email us back the Word doc

If you help out, Jon’s fragile little fingers might not fall off. And given that he likes to drum and to box, it would be a tragedy if this happens.

Become a Weekly Volunteer

Have at least a couple of hours every week (or every other week) to come by our office and help out? You will become one of our superheros! Our weekly volunteers are among the coolest people we know. They rock us on the regular.

You can come anytime Monday through Friday between about 9 AM and 8 PM.

To see all of our roles, click here. People help out with things like making food boxes, doing online research, calling potential referral sites for our clients, data entry…the list goes on and on.

Right now, our biggest needs are:

Ready, Set, Goal!

Are you a first-time I Think I Can Campaign participant who needs some support getting started, or some brainstorming on ideas? Are you thinking of doing a Campaign, and want to learn more about it?

ATC is hosting an I Think I Can Campaign informational event at our office on January 26^th! Come by and get expert advice on choosing goals, setting up your webpage, how to maximize fundraising, etc. We’ll also make sure to feed you.

ATC staff and past Campaign participants will be here to answer any questions and to offer expert advise on ITIC-ing. With many awesome people there who have lots of Campaign experience, you won’t want to pass this up!

At The Crossroads is launching its 5th annual I Think I Can Campaign to support services for homeless youth in San Francisco, and I want you to Hop On Board!

At The Crossroads is teaming up with Mission Cycling to bring you Spinning Spokes for Homeless Folks – a fun cycling event throughout the month of September that will raise money for homeless youth in San Francisco!
