We Think Shari Can
Support Reckless Dating in 2010 while helping homeless youth
Goal
Hey everyone!
Thank you for visiting my campaign page for ATC. Most, if not all, of you know there is one thing in this world I have sworn never to do: online dating. You have heard my countless arguments, a general poo-pooing of the subject, and even just flat-out refusal from me -- an otherwise adventurous person. Well, apparently it's freezing in hell right now, because my goal in this campaign is to be a Reckless Dater!
For the first $100 dollars you help me raise for ATC, I will join an online dating service and I will go on 2 dates. For every hundred dollars after that, I will go on one more date, with an overall goal of six dates for $500.
If the thought of me actually doing this isn't incentive enough, I will be updating this page with stories from each date - and don't lie to yourself, you KNOW you're gonna want to hear these!
I chose this goal because
Because people will pay money to see this happen!!
Moreover, who says meeting a goal can't be fun? By doing this, I will be not only giving you something to laugh about, but also helping a wonderful organization meet its goals as well.
I'm helping because
I've been volunteering with At the Crossroads for about a year now, and in that time I've seen how passionate the staff of ATC is about their work with the homeless youth of San Francisco. One of the things that stands out to me about this team of wonderful people is their demand for excellence in everything they do - from the precise way toiletries are packed to the way clothing is displayed. They pass these standards on in the way they extend help to their clients, and for that, I admire them.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
