Encouragement is a wonderful word. When we give, we give courage. When others give, they inspire. In-spire -- Breathe-in. Acarasiddhi

Keep knitting! Glad you'll be knitting as a new staff person there so it will be easier to drop the hats off !

Goal

Okay, friends and family here's your chance. Your donations supports two worthy causes: ONE--You get to support an amazing organization working with homeless youth, helping them meet their own personal goals for success; TWO--At the same time you assist me in keeping my idle hands busy knitting hats that I will then donate to At The Crossroads to be distributed to homeless youth in San Francisco.

GOAL: For every $100 donated, I will knit one hat. So if I reach my goal of $1000 then I will supply At The Crossroads with 10 warm knit hats. Simple. And for every person who donates at the $100 level you get to decide what color I will knit the hat. How special is that, and how awesome are you!

I chose this goal because

Creating warm hats to distribute to youth on the street is a great use of my energies and now that I am gainfully employed by said organization you can not only support youth, but yours truly. Help support me support an extremely worthy organization doing valuable work in my community.

I'm helping because

I am helping At The Crossroads because I believe that we too quickly give up on our youth, criminalizing and marginalizing them while offering them few alternatives to truly succeed in their lives. At The Crossroads applies a model that works with homeless youth on creating goals that they can meet, setting them up, not for failure, but for success.

The work At The Crossroads is doing with youth is truly phenomenal and in these tough economic times we must support each other in doing the work that needs to be done. The true measure of a society is found in how we treat those who are the most vulnerable, the most in need.

Help me create a just and kind society by donating today...right now...that's right, click the button that says donate...yes you can!

About At The Crossroads

ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.

Updates

Thanks for all the donations i have received so far I have raised $250 toward my $1000 goal (I have a check for ATC) and I am feverishly knitting away on the 2.5 hats that I am going to knit (okay, let's call it three cause I know you won't let me down!)

Here's a great piece of art showing the superhero knitter hard at work, thought you might like to know what I look like!
