Goal

I will perform one Act Of Kindness for every $10.00 raised for At The Crossroads. Imagine the possibilities...

Giving directions to lost tourists!

Feeding expired parking meters!

Baking brownies for a friend!

Sending a greeting card to my Grandma!

Sending a greeting card to YOUR Grandma!

There are so many opportunities to be kind! I will keep a running list of my Acts Of Kindness (AOK) and take photos to share whenever possible. Some acts might be planned, while others might present themselves magically throughout the campaign. If the donations really start rolling in (hint hint), I might even have to repeat a few. Let the kindness begin!

Remember, your donations will go directly to At The Crossroads and will not be used towards my Act Of Kindness

I chose this goal because

Life is hard. Being kind is easy. Everyone could use a little kindness, right?

I'll help the people around me by being kind, you help the clients from At The Crossroads by donating. Everybody wins!

I'm helping because

"At The Crossroads helps homeless youth build outstanding lives. We focus on reaching young people who don’t access traditional services, providing them with unconditional support, and helping them identify and achieve all of their goals."

I have been volunteering at At the Crossroads for a couple of years now and to put it simply, I think it is an exceptional organization. I see many homeless youth on the streets of San Francisco, and wish they could all receive support from people as dedicated as those at ATC. The office in The Mission neighborhood is always bustling and I love to check out the new projects underway. On a typical volunteer night, we prepare care packages, straighten up the donated clothing room or make congratulation cards for the clients. I love to see other volunteers get excited about ATC! Rob and the ATC staff do great work and this is our chance to help them out.

About At The Crossroads

ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.

#7 & #8 AOK Ski Guiding!

I spent a couple of days volunteering as a cross-country ski guide for a group of girls this week. Everyone had an awesome time and got in a solid amount of skiing. Woohoo! Now, if we just had a little more snow...

#6 AOK Sewing!

Helped a friend with a sewing project. We had lots of fun catching up while making progress on the sewing. Measure twice, cut once.

#2-#5 AOK *Gym Edition*

The sauna at my gym is wonderful. So warm and relaxing...ahhhhh. The water jug in there is frequently empty, so I drug myself out of the enveloping warmth and into the harsh environs of the locker room to refill it the last three times I used the sauna. THREE times!

Near the cardio machines, there is usually an assortment of crumply, out-of-date magazines carelessly scattered around. I picked up my own copy People (July issue) and everyone else's discards and arranged them neatly on the magazine rack. I drew the line at picking up towels, however. Ya'll are sweaty.
