We Think Olaitan Can
Support Olaitan's Campaign while helping homeless youth
Goal
Organizing and clearing out my basement storage and former studio space
I chose this goal because
My basement area is a mess! For many years I did all my art work in this space, shared with the household storage. Over time it has become filled with STUFF, some useful, some not so much -- but how do I know which is which? When I heard about the At the Crossroads Campaign idea I knew this would be the perfect way to support a terrific organization whose work I appreciate and at the same time support my desire to free up space and increase flow in my life. (Oh yeah, and get some cool books, clothing, arts and crafts supplies and more to places where they can be used!)
I'm helping because
A couple of years ago someone asked me to support her At The Crossroads campaign and I did basically just because she asked. Over time I have learned more about At The Crossroads and I am impressed by the organization. The help that ATC gives young people who have nowhere else to go is outstanding. They meet youth where they are giving meaningful and nonjudgmental support. Having someone who cares is powerful. I am the parent of young adults, have been a young adult (yeah, a long time ago), am related to young adults, am friends with parents of young adults – all of whom have someone who cares. I want to help do something for those young people who have no one and nowhere to turn.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
