We Think Nicole Can
Support Living Life Offline while helping homeless youth
Goal
My goal is to spend only half an hour web-surfing or otherwise faffing online between the hours of 10 AM and 9 PM..
I chose this goal because
I spend too much time getting sucked down the black holes of my (fabulous) online chat groups,
Facebook, Twitter, etc. Time to kick some butt at work. And if I have time to burn, I'm going to
take a walk, call a friend, do my Hebrew homework, play princess with my kids, or do something
else in the real world.
I'm helping because
We've been cheering on ATC for a long time now. It's so inspiring to know that ATC folks are
meeting these young people where they are and letting them know there are people out
there who care about what happens to them. We all like to think of ourselves as not passing
judgment on others, but how many of us really take the time to know people in need, without
preceonceptions about what they need, or judgments about whether they deserve our help?
If you're new to ATC, check them out. They're good people doing great stuff.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
