We Think Megan Can
Support Run Faster, Arrive Sooner while helping homeless youth
Goal
I want to run 2010 miles in 2010. That's 40 miles per week. Every week! For a whole year!
I chose this goal because
Last year I ran 500 miles in 50 days for ATC, and I was in glorious, mean, wicked shape at the end of those 50 days. I chose this year's goal because I want to run faster this year than I've ever run before: faster than most of the men I know, faster than the kids I envy at the track, faster than I ever thought I could. Maybe I'll even try to win a 10K race or two.
I'll post regular updates and photos about my mileage, times, injuries, demoralizations, and conquests. I might even reveal details of my preferred horrid pop music for long runs, and of the crazy things I do when I have a runner's high.
I'm helping because
I'm supporting ATC because running the streets at dawn leads me to consider what it'd be like to have spent the night on the streets. We all deserve to be warm and comfortable, and to be on the streets or on the run only when we want to. It's important. Please help me support ATC.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
