We Think Mary Can
Support Mary's Campaign while helping homeless youth
Goal
My goal is to donate blood at least once during the course of the campaign. (If you give whole blood you have to wait 8 weeks between donations.)
I chose this goal because
It's easy, it's almost painless, and it's very important--but I find myself all too often putting it off. Anyone want to come with me? Long ago, a friend and I used to use it as a chance to catch up. We'd ask for chairs next to each other so we could talk!
I'm helping because
I'm participating in the campaign again because I really believe in At The Crossroads. Especially in these economic times, ATC's young clients need a helping hand--whether that help is a sandwich and a packet of multivitamins, or a referral to a doctor or counselor, or help in formulating a strategy to get more stable housing than couch surfing or living on the street. Sometimes even a cheerful familiar face can offer hope. This is what the remarkable outreach workers of At The Crossroads do, and we know it has good results.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
