We Think Kristina Can
Support Oh Say Can You Sing! while helping homeless youth
Goal
HAVE YOU HEARD!?!?!?! Kristina Marilyn Chance, SF native and counselor for ATC, will be singing the National Anthem for the San Francisco Giants against the Cincinnati Reds on AUGUST 24th, 2010 at 7pm. And yes, I'm nervous as heck. So as I've reached my primary goal, I must prepare! The following will be the three things I MUST do before the big day starting in the beginning of May:
1) First and foremost, I need to SOUND GOOD. That means practicing 3 times a week. If anyone knows any good vocal coaches, holla at me!
2) Something equally important as sounding good, I need to LOOK GOOD on that jumbo screen. That means shedding a few pounds, getting the hair and nails cleaned up, and actually shopping for make-up as opposed to getting hand me downs.
3) And last but not least, a PRACTICE PARTY is a must. Though the date is yet to be determined, I will hold a party this Summer where folks will be wined and dined and you will get a special preview of what is to come on the big day. This party will help my nerves and vocal chords.
I chose this goal because
This goal is something that will push my limits, personally and vocally. It has always been a dream of mine to do this and If I can do this, I can do anything!
I'm helping because
Though ATC is my place of employment, I never feel like it's work. I feel so honored to be a part of an organization with core values equivalent to my personal beliefs. I wake up everyday feeling very happy that I can be a part of our clients' lives because they are amazing people. I hope that my campaign can hugely impact the lives of our youth in positive ways for years to come.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
