Goal

Hola! My goal is to (re)learn Spanish. I will read, write, and speak as much Spanish as I can with the help of text books, the internet, and of course my co-workers. All $ raised will go straight to ATC, not the payment of my Spanish language resources. And for all those who sponsor, you will receive a personal thank you from me...en Espanol!!!

I chose this goal because

As an outreach counselor for ATC, I feel it is effective to communicate in many ways through cultural codes, languages, and gestures with the clients we see on outreach and in the office. Working in the Mission, there are many Spanish speaking clients that I can only nod my head to or say "Buenos noches" from time to time. If I can at least improve my Spanish a little, I can talk to someone who I otherwise couldn't.

I'm helping because

I have worked at ATC for a little over 3 months and I have learned so much about our youth, the communities we work with, and most of all myself. I am proud and honored to be a part of such an educated, talented, and loving group of people and hope that ATC and organizations like it thrive.

About At The Crossroads

ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.

Updates

¡Gracias a cada uno que ha sido tan de apoyo en estas 10 semanas! Aunque no resolví mi meta de la donación, he aprendido que mucho más los españoles y yo esperamos guardarla para arriba para mientras pueda.

Hello everyone!

It's nearing the end of week 4 and we're almost at that halfway point.

Some of you may know that I have been studying for the GRE's for the past few months and on top of that, trying my best to get back into shape. AND, I just got back from Las Vegas (hope you like the picture below, totally reppin ATC!). So my Spanish endeavors are not too high on my list of priorities but I know that I am continuing my efforts.

Thank you so much for your endless support and I can't thank you enough. Keep checking back to see how I'm doing. Your support is so helpful!

Gracias!
