Get Physical: Finish the 2010 Bay to Breakers in 1 hour or less
I've been running approximately 5 days a week since the beginning of the year. I also do some sit-ups on occasion. I want to keep this habit up and dominate this year's Bay 2 Breakers race. Last year I managed to humiliate myself and finish in 1 hour, 28 minutes. I want to shave 28 minutes off last years time.
I chose this goal because
It's a new year and not only that, its a new decade. My physical fitness has always been important to me, but at times the level of that importance shifts. I want to stay in top physical shape so I can continue to look like a stud hopefully get less negative reviews of my ass from strangers and friends.
I'm helping because
I met Rob Gitin (founder of ATC) at a random client meeting in fall of 2009. He explained to me what ATC does and has accomplished in the past. I was genuinely intrigued and impressed. The advertising agency I work for ended up taking on ATC as a pro bono client, and we created the invitation brochure for this year's campaign.
ATC takes a unique approach to how they help their clients. I had no idea that this sort of program even existed, but it great to see an alternative structure and vision being used to success. That's the best part, ATC has had incredible success with their approach to helping homeless youth. I am excited that I can be of some help as well.
So keep in mind, we're all winners here. I am not running and doing situps and making weird movies just for me, its for a much bigger and brighter cause. Take some time to research what ATC does and has done. I am looking forward to seeing how my campaign turns out.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
