We Think Frank Can
Support Frank's Campaign while helping homeless youth
Goal
I think I can cycle at least 100 miles per month!! Starting in March, 2010, through February 2011 - or sooner if I reach my $2000 goal! (If I reach my goal sooner, with your help, then I'll start a new campaign.)
I chose this goal because
It's not an easy thing to do throughout the year. Most times of year, it's a big commitment for me to spend the time to go out and ride. But it's always the best feeling - being outdoors, concentrating on the road, my cadence and rhythm, enjoying the beauty of my surroundings, and being inspired by all of it. It helps to clear my mind, and think of new ideas, people, friends, and other things that I would not otherwise think of in the gym, or pool, or yoga. It's something I have started to neglect of late and need this motivation while helping a great cause. Plus, it's really fun - come and ride with me!!!
I'm helping because
I love that the ATC model is to nurture the homeless youth of San Francisco and build up their self esteem, without forcing them to accept a particular program or lifestyle. It helps these young people grow into adults and pursue their passions. The ATC success rate is amazing. I've never seen anything like the way ATC counselors dedicate to helping these kids. The entire team is so incredible and dedicated to the cause. It's contagious!! I found out about ATC when I attended a "Board Match" event in January. I've attended several events such as the "I think I can" campaign kick-off, and everyone's energy is so high, their welcome so warm and their dedication so deep. I had to be a part of this!!
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
