Goal

Hi friends,

I've joined the army of goodness that is At the Crossroads, an organization that provides support and services to homeless youth. I'm participating in their "I Think I Can" campaign by making a "mindprint"-- a piece of automatic writing on a 4 by 6 card every day for the next ten weeks, that's 70 nifty snapshots of my unconscious. Please donate what you can to help support an excellent organization.

I chose this goal because

Why this particular project you may ask? Because I believe in the imagination and like to celebrate what it can do. Because for me, to write something so unstructured is a process of letting go, and it's important to travel light in this world. Because I'm busy, but even if I can't work on some larger writing project, I can always find time to write a 4 by 6 card worth.

I'm helping because

I'm helping with At the Crossroads because they go out and talk and engage with the kids, do human things like talk and eat lunch. They provide things that meet immediate needs (snacks, tampons, condoms) and also connect the kids with services that help them address long term life skills.

About At The Crossroads

ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
