We Think Dawn Can
Support Lick The Sugar Habit while helping homeless youth
Goal
For 30 days I am giving up sugar. I really love desserts. I eat them almost every day. I think I may be a bit addicted to sugar. So why give it up? Well I want to see if I can, I want to detox from the sweet stuff and help my community in the process. This campaign will help me in achieving this goal while raising money for At The Crossroads.
I chose this goal because
I come from a family of diabetics and I wonder if one day I too will develop this disease. I know my body craves desserts and I wonder if I can get a grip on this by cutting out sugar. I hope that what I learn from this experiment will help me to stay in control of these cravings and be a more sensible eater. And who knows maybe lose a little weight, can't hurt, right?
I'm helping because
I have lived in San Francisco for over 10 years and I know how difficult it can be to live here. I imagine what it would be like for those who didn't have the same opportunities and choices as I did growing up. ATC is an organization that I want to support because I believe all youth should have those opportunities and choices in life. There is so much potential and it's crucial to nurture this in our city. I want to see San Francisco be all it can be which includes all our citizens having a chance to shine. ATC helps empower youths to change their lives around.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
