We Think brenda Can
Support Brenda's Campaign while helping homeless youth
Goal
my goal is to convince as many people i know to wear their helmets when riding a bike. ivan alomar, one of beloved coworkers, is among one of my many victims. i will do this by harassing those dear to me in any way i can. i will become people's worst nightmare if they don't get a helmet soon. at the end of the campaign, if i raise $1,000, i am going to host a party, a helmet party, at my place where i will cook all sorts of mexican dishes for everyone i can convince to buy/wear a helmet! and to all those who donate...you are also invited!!!!! get rewarded for your safety/support!
I chose this goal because
this goal is important to me because protecting your head is absolutely essential. i unfortunately have fallen off my bike 2 times, both without a helmet. in a more recent fall, i was able to get myself pretty beat up by the pavement. my injuries included a black eye, which i had to walk around with for a week and a half. not fun. i'm happy to report that i am now wearing my helmet everyday of my life and seriously considering wearing it even when i'm not biking. maybe.
I'm helping because
i have worked at ATC since september 2007 as an outreach counselor and i have been absolutely loving every second of it. i believe in the work that we do. the clients are incredible and i believe that they deserve only the best. ATC is an amazing organization that empowers clients and supports them in their specific situation. check out our website and the documentary to see what ATC is all about. furthermore, the staff has been so amazing and genuine. they have all become my family away from home and i appreciate them so much. so ivan, i care for you, therefore get a helmet!!!!
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
