We Think Arnold Can
Support Help me score while helping homeless youth
Goal
In case you're not aware, I've been having trouble scoring lately :(.
Consequently, as a double-dip campaign, I'm going to score a goal for ATC on my soccer team for every $50 raised as well as volunteer 2 hours of office time with ATC.
All monies go straight to ATC. They could really use the help. Thanks!
I chose this goal because
In things more fun and frivolous, extrinsic motivation works well. Plus, it's great to think about all the wonderful people in my life who are behind me when I head to the office. especially on the occasional off day.
I'm helping because
ATC helps all those kids that we went to school with, the ones who lived next door, the ones we were close to as kids but grew apart from due to circumstance. We went our way, they headed to the streets, to juvenile hall, and down less fortunate paths than we due to circumstances beyond their control. Some grew up in violent or negligent family circumstances, others were abused, and some just plain unlucky.
These are the clients that ATC serves. ATC strives to get them back to stable living. It's impressive what some of ATC's clients have overcome. It's also amazing how, without a support system, the daily burdens of life can overcome a person.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
